Knit for Life™ is a network of volunteers who use the
healing experience of knitting to enhance the lives of
cancer patients and their caregivers during treatment
and recovery. It provides a program of instruction for
beginning and experienced knitters in a nontraditional
therapeutic environment.
Through knitting, patients escape isolation as they share their experiences and concerns. They receive both mental and physical support, and they learn about the cancer process in ways that help support thoughtful decision-making and self-advocacy.
For more information, contact Tanya Parieaux at 206-938-9081 or e-mail her or visit their website.

This group in Bellevue sponsors a group knitting
project for persons interested in knitting chemo caps
for cancer patients. All knitters are most welcome to
participate. Volunteers are free to come for an hour or
two if they wish — it is not necessary to stay for the
entire time. The chemo cap pattern is provided, as well
as the yarn but donations are always welcome. Bring a
pair of circular needles. Help with the pattern is
available. The group meets every Wednesday and Friday
from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cancer Resource
Center, 1135 - 116th NE., Suite 240, Bellevue. If you
have questions call the Overlake Cancer Resource Center
at 425-688-5986 and ask about the chemo caps knitting
circle.

Quilts From The Heart is a nonprofit public benefit
organization that brings caring and comfort to
children, teens, and adults in our community who are
most in need, by providing handmade patchwork quilts to
warm the body and soothe the heart and soul. Our
members share their love of fabric, quilting and
friendship in a "no pressure" atmosphere of fun and
camaraderie.
Wrap Them in Love Foundation is a non-profit, tax
exempt organization created to help needy children of
the world. Our Mission is to collect donated quilts and
distribute them to children around the world, so they
can be wrapped in the love of a quilt. As we all know,
a quilt is a very special thing. It isn't just a
blanket. It has been lovingly created by a real person.
A quilter leaves a part of themselves in every quilt
they make. The child who receives that quilt will be
able to snuggle up in all the love that comes in a
quilt.
